SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The San Francisco 49ers signed former Stanford guard Joshua Garnett to a four-year deal Friday, getting the last of their 11 draft picks under contract.
The 6-foot-5, 321-pound Garnett, a Puyallup High School graduate, was selected 28th overall, with the second of the 49ers’ two first-round draft picks. His contract is reportedly worth about $9.3 million.
Garnett won the Outland Trophy last season as the nation’s most outstanding lineman, the first Stanford player to win the award. He also earned the Morris Trophy as Pac-12 Lineman of the Year.
