Free agent punter Jon Ryan tweeted Friday that he would be returning to the Seattle Seahawks for 2016 and beyond.
The 34-year-old has been one of the league's best punters since signing with Seattle at the beginning of the 2008 season, averaging 44.8 yards per punt in eight years with the team.
His best-known moment may have come in the 2014 NFC championship game, when Ryan helped ignite a comeback with a third-quarter 19-yard touchdown pass to tackle Garry Gilliam on a fake field goal.
Ryan's signing leaves tackle Russell Okung as the lone Seattle starter unaccounted for in free agency.
