Jeremy Lane's 2017 base salary of $4 million became fully guaranteed on Friday.
The Seattle Seahawks cornerback signed a four-year, $23 million contract last offseason, but only the signing bonus ($5 million) and 2016 salary ($2 million) were fully guaranteed.
The contract stipulated that Lane's 2017 salary ($4 million) would be guaranteed if he were still on the roster five days after the Super Bowl. And he is.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll offered a lukewarm assessment of Lane's play following the 2016 season.
"Jeremy, he played a lot of football this year," Carroll said.
