Is Seahawks’ offensive surge for real? They’ll find out vs. Vikings

The truest assessment of just how lasting the offensive breakthrough is will come Sunday when the Seahawks play at Minnesota against a Vikings team that is second in the NFL in scoring defense at 17.6 points per game.

To hear some of the Seahawks tell it, the offensive turnaround that has led to wins the past two weeks actually began during one of the team’s more devastating losses this season.

While the Seahawks were defeated 39-32 by Arizona on Nov. 15, they scored on five of their last eight possessions, a stretch that began after penalties helped kill the first four drives.
