Is it time for Seahawks fans to board the Jaxon Smith-Njigba hype train?

Gavin Feek is a writer from Seattle (now based in Los Angeles) who contributes to Field Gulls and Stab Magazine, as well as freelances for McSweeney's, Outside, and The Stranger. In addition to writing about the Seattle Seahawks for Field Gulls, Gavin works in the film industry.

I hadn’t really realized it before, but the Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name is oddly similar to a name from the 2012 Key and Peele skit: East/West College Bowl - hyphenated and everything.

For the record, "Xmus Jaxon Flaxon-Waxon" was the player who said he was from "California University of Pennsylvania", a name I found to be a great joke at the time, and not a real 172-year-old institution pic.
