The Seahawks waived 2014 5th Round pick Jimmy Staten on Monday, and the Giants claimed him on waivers. Staten spent most of his rookie year on the Seattle practice squad, and was in a good battle to make the roster this year at defensive tackle. Last year, John Schneider had talked about how Staten had some upside but was raw.
I thought he played well on Friday vs. the Broncos -- he was pretty stout at the point of attack, he deflected one pass, and had a tackle in the backfield on a Denver run -- but apparently his performance wasn't enough.
