With running backs Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet firmly in the RB1 and RB2 slots, we’ve been closely monitoring the third-down running back competition here at Field Gulls. 2023 seventh-round pick Kenny McIntosh and 2024 UDFA rookie George Holani are the top two contenders to secure the role – and have been in seemingly tight competition since camp began.
To my own eyes, George Holani seemed to have the edge in camp – only to watch McIntosh enter preseason game one against the Chargers before him and take more carries for more yards.
