Former Rainier Beach High School, University of Washington and NBA point guard Nate Robinson tried out with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, the team confirmed to seattlepi.com.
The 32-year-old Robinson last played football as a true freshman for the Huskies in 2002, starting six games as a defensive back before concentrating on basketball. The 11-year NBA veteran announced his intentions to attempt an NFL career in March before playing basketball overseas this spring.
Listed at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, Robinson won the NBA dunk contest in 2006, 2009 and 2010. He was much more than a novelty during his NBA career, however, averaging 11 points and 3 assists in 22.
