Matt Hasselbeck, the quarterback who played 10 seasons for the Seahawks and led them to Super Bowl XL before losing to the Steelers, announced his retirement Wednesday after 18 years in the NFL.
Hasselbeck, 40, will replace former Bears coach Mike Ditka as an analyst at ESPN, though Ditka, who referred to Barack Obama as the "worst" president ever last week in a radio interview, will remain with the network in some capacity.
"As a kid, playing in the NFL was always my dream and it turned out to be way more fun than I could've ever imagined," Hasselbeck said in an ESPN statement.
