Jon Ryan has a job again, and it’s in his hometown.
It was confirmed on Monday that the longtime Seattle Seahawks punter had signed a contract with the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders. Ryan is a Regina native, and the Roughriders are based in the provincial capital.
After ten years as Seattle’s punter, Ryan was let go by the team during 2018 preseason in favor of the sensational rookie Michael Dickson. When he was later cut by the Buffalo Bills, the 38-year-old spent all of last season as a free agent. Last month it was reported that Ryan was going to participate in Saskatchewan’s training camp tryouts, and now we know it went well.
