Former Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman was sentenced to community service and probation exactly a year after a hit-and-run collision in Bellevue.
Coleman, 25, appeared in King County Superior Court in Seattle on Friday along with attorneys Diego Vargas and John Fox for sentencing after pleading guilty to felony vehicular assault and hit and run last week.
The sentence includes 240 hours of community service to be completed over six months, as well as a year of unsupervised probation. Coleman also waived his right to own a gun and to vote.
Before Judge John Chun announced the sentence, Coleman and his parents each gave statements to the court, expressing remorse and apologizing for his actions.
