Fabulous Five: Seahawks secondary stifles Broncos

The Seattle Seahawks can play defense once again!

There’s about as much to celebrate in Mike Macdonald’s NFL debut as there has been intrigue about his inaugural season.

The score was close as the Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 26-20, but Seattle’s offense was to blame for that.

Let’s focus for a minute on the secondary. New linebackers, new safeties, a mountain-and-valley Riq Woolen, and all sorts of questions surrounded this squad.

I thought the guys that patrolled the defensive backfield absolutely balled out today. The heroes of the game for me, in order, were:

Julian Love

Tyrel Dodson

Riq Woolen

Devon Witherspoon

Rayshawn Jenkins

Honorable mentions to Jerome Baker and K’Von Wallace.
