According to a report from TMZ, former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been given an eight-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to charges of attempted murder. Browner reportedly got 300 days credit for good behavior during time served for this court case.
The Associated Press has also since confirmed through prosecutors that Browner also pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to a child. In exchange, the other charges of robbery, burglary and false imprisonment were dropped.
All of those charges stem from a July incident, when Browner was arrested after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home, assaulting her by dragging her before smothering her in a carpet.
