Eugene Robinson to Panthers: Don’t do what I did at Super Bowl

Robinson, a longtime Seahawk, was arrested the night before Super Bowl XXXIII as member of the Atlanta Falcons on charges of solicitation of a prostitute. Now a Carolina Panthers team broadcaster, he warns the Panthers not to follow his path this week.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Before the Carolina Panthers went to California for the Super Bowl, team broadcaster Eugene Robinson had a message for the players: Don’t mess up like I did.

Robinson, who played for the Seahawks from 1985-1995, was a Falcons safety in 1999 when he was arrested the night before the Super Bowl for solicitation of a prostitute, while his wife and children were in a nearby hotel.
