The mayor of DuPont, Pierce County, home to many military families, said he was “profoundly sorry” for canceling a weekend Seahawks rally.
Mayor Mike Courts spoke at the City Council meeting Tuesday night.
“I made a decision last week that has led to a great deal of press and public comment, both positive and negative, and pain for the citizens of DuPont, businesses and other leaders,” he said. “Let me make it very clear that this was my decision alone, and I accept full responsibility for the decision and implications of it.
