RENTON -- Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin called his meetings with state leaders in Olympia on Monday "a step in the right direction."
After testifying to a state task force on the use of deadly force by police officers and meeting with Governor Jay Inslee to discuss the issue, Baldwin told reporters he was happy he made the trip to the state capital.
The 28-year-old Baldwin, the son of a police officer, testified in front of a task force charged with reviewing a Washington state statute that says police can't be charged with a crime for using deadly force unless it can be proven they acted with "malice" and without "good faith.
