Darrell Bevell a candidate for the head coach spot at BYU?

Long-time BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall has bolted for Virginia, which opens up a relatively good job in Provo. The catch of course is that, as Bruce Feldman pointed out on Saturday: "AD Tom Holmoe told reporters Friday, to lead BYU in any sport, you have to be an active member of the LDS Church. Obviously, that cuts the down list of options significantly."

Feldman suspects that with this in mind, Seahawks' offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell (an active member of the church) will be, or already is, a candidate for the job.

Earlier this season, this news would have probably led to rejoicing among the Seattle fanbase but with a resurgence from Russell Wilson and the Seahawks' offense over the past three weeks, that enthusiasm may be tempered or replaced with dread.
