The Baltimore Ravens will release left tackle Eugene Monroe on Wednesday according to multiple reports, placing an intriguing player on the open market just as the NFL offseason is set to conclude.
Monroe, 29, was a first-round pick of the Jaguars in 2008, starting 62 games for Jacksonville before being traded to Baltimore midway through the 2013 season. Though still regarded as a solid, balanced left tackle when healthy, Monroe has missed 15 regular-season games with shoulder and ankle injuries over the past two seasons.
He became expendable in Baltimore after the Ravens selected Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley No.
