They have already released Tony McDaniel which netted them about $2.5 million in cap space ($3 million from McDaniel minus Gilliam’s $514,000 addition). Another way they could gain some cap space is to deal with the contract of Brandon Mebane. I see three potential options, lets break them down.

The first option would be to just release him. He currently has a 2015 cap hit of $5.
