Colin Kaepernick to visit Seahawks on Wednesday

Free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick is visiting the Seahawks on Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter, confirming a report by NFL Network.

Coach Pete Carroll said last week that the team was exploring the idea of adding Kaepernick.

The Seahawks need a backup to Russell Wilson, and signing Kaepernick would make sense. Carroll values ball security and wants a backup with mobility.

Kaepernick has the second-lowest interception rate in the history of the NFL and would be able to execute the read option and bootlegs that are a part of the Seahawks' offense.
