The Seattle Seahawks’ game-winning touchdown drive did feature some controversy when Los Angeles Rams linebacker Clay Matthews was flagged for a questionable roughing the passer penalty. For Matthews, his night would get worse just a few plays later.
On third-and-goal, Chris Carson ran to the outside for a five-yard gain, making Matthews miss in the open field. If you slow the play down, you will see Matthews get inadvertently kicked by Carson’s left foot, and evidently that broke his jaw. You can see Matthews grab a hold of his helmet right away.
