Cigar Thoughts, Game 12: Seahawks and Jets do a bunch of drugs, see what happens

It’s funny, last week’s Seattle Seahawks game against the Arizona Cardinals carried much higher leverage than today’s game against the Jets did, but I was remarkably placid as I watched it. I think it’s because, even after the win against the 49ers, I had settled into a comfortable recognition that 2024 is, as I’ve said many times, a diagnostic year. But then they won, and scooted back into first place and in doing so, scooted my fragile, unprotected heart back into a place of hope. And hope, as Red once famously said, is a dangerous thing.

This game was a fever dream, so I’ll try to sort back through the fractals of emotional shrapnel surrounding the final result.
