Bruce Irvin wants to play for his hometown Falcons when he hits free agency in 2016, he told BSO's Samuel Logan.
Logan interviewed Irvin courtside at the Atlanta Hawks' playoff game last night and the Seahawks' OLB/DE told him "I'm going to be in Atlanta next season. I'm ready." When asked if Irvin would consider Seattle if they offered him a big contract extension, Irvin replied "Atlanta is where I want to be. Believe that."
Irvin re-tweeted the report so I think we can assume the quotes are accurate.
Now, whether Irvin was just getting caught up in the playoffs atmosphere, the nostalgia of his hometown, or the bitterness for the Seahawks for not picking up his fifth-year option (or all three), we really can't know.
