The Seahawks recently placed defensive tackle Tory Slater on the injured reserve. He cleared waivers once to get there. After Seattle waived him from the injured reserve, the Browns, for some reason, perked up and claimed him.
Slater is a 6'5, 285 pound defensive lineman with excellent athleticism, one of the recruits to the Seahawks' UDFA class that had some people pretty intrigued. Nonetheless, after suffering a minor hamstring tweak, Seattle decided to waive him with the injured designation and send him to their reserve list. As they do with a lot of their end-of-roster types on the injured reserve, he was cut from the IR with an injury settlement and the Browns decided to take a look.
