Seahawks punter Jon Ryan isn't gherkin around when it comes to baseball.
When he's not kicking footballs for the Seahawks, the 35-year-old Ryan is a frequent visitor to Mariners games, whether at spring training in Peoria, Arizona, or at Safeco Field.
On Wednesday, Ryan, a Saskatchewan native, took his love of America's national pastime to a new level when he was introduced as part owner of the Portland Pickles, a collegiate wood-bat team founded in 2016.
Ryan announced the news on Twitter before a ceremony in the Rose City.
The Pickles play in the six-team Great West League, which was founded in 2014 and includes teams from Medford, Oregon, and four Northern California towns: Chico, Lincoln Marysville and Yuba City.
