Best and worst free agent signings in Seahawks history

NFL free agency is fraught with peril.

Sometimes, the acquisition of a veteran or two can push a team over the top in its quest for a championship. That scenario has played out in recent Seahawks history.

Ahead of the 2013 season Seattle signed defensive ends Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril after the duo languished on the open market for a few days. Avril and Bennett didn't start, but they became key cogs in pass rush rotation, combining for 16.5 sacks on the year for the Seahawks, who rolled through a 13-3 regular season en route to a victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
