Author’s note: This is the second installment of my new weekly column, Barely Relevant.
Sometimes, when I go for a run, I like to listen to sentimental music from my childhood. Not music that I liked, but music that my older brother liked - soundtracks from movies that were just a bit too advanced for my age. As a very young child in the eighties, this usually ends up being John Hughes movie soundtracks, random new wave bands, or The Cars. They all have an air of mystery – as I never quite understood them and couldn’t grasp the larger world meaning behind any of it until I was older.
