Analysis: So what now for Seahawks’ defensive line with Michael Bennett gone and others likely out the door?

The 2017 season began with some analysts wondering if the Seahawks might have the best defensive line in the NFL.

It was a line featuring three players who had made at least one Pro Bowl — ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett and tackle Sheldon Richardson – as well as a rising star in Frank Clark.

Barely six months later, it’s possible that of that potentially fearsome foursome, only Clark is assured of returning in 2018.

In just the last 24 hours the Seahawks officially declined to place a tag on Richardson which would have meant he would return for at least the 2018 season, with Seattle now having to likely fend off a slew of other suitors to try to re-sign him, while Bennett was traded to the Eagles, ending months of speculation about his future.
