This week on Seaside Reactions, I discuss eight issues for the Seattle Seahawks that were exposed against the Arizona Cardinals. These issues are apparent not only for the rest of the season, but will need to be priorities in a critical 2020 offseason.
Quick rundown:
RB dependence, depth, injuries
Pass Rush
Pass Protection
Playcalling / Game plan
Secondary
Linebackers
Weapons
Pete Carroll
I talk about whether or not Seattle will draft a running back early in 2020, which position they probably will address with their first pick, how bad the situations are on the offensive and defensive lines even before getting into injuries and free agency which compound the issue of how bad things are there, whether or not the 3-linebacker plan has been working, if it’s good enough for the Seahawks to have “good” cornerbacks or if this defense actually needs an elite cornerback and/or free safety to succeed at the highest level, the importance of the loss of Will Dissly in Week 6 and the need for more weapons, plus questioning of the playcalling, gameplan, and coaching execution of Pete Carroll and his staff.
