Brandon Mebane joined the Seahawks in a time the team was slowly started to decline. Taken in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft out of the University of California, Mebane joined a Seattle franchise in transition. The team was leaving a few excellent years and had made the Super Bowl for the 2005 season. But by 2008, Seattle was 4-12. Mebane helped rebuild the team, though.
The defensive tackle was never expected to be a Hall of Famer. He was drafted to plug the middle of the defensive line and stop other teams from running the ball.
