The Seattle Seahawks were one play away from winning back-to-back Super Bowls last year. They are among the favorites this season, but first Seattle needs to win its division first. Here are four reasons why the Seahawks will win the NFC West.
Loaded Defense
Honestly, you could make a list why Seattle would win the NFC West using only its defense. Even with losses in the secondary, the Seahawks have one of the best units in the NFL. Bobby Wagner is one of the better MLBs in the NFL and Bruce Irvin is great at getting to the QB. The Seahawks have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL. They are stacked on defense.
Beast Mode
Marshawn Lynch is one of the best RBs in the NFL. The Seahawks' line might not be the greatest, but Seattle is still a run-first team. Lynch hasn't shown signs of decline yet and should have another good season.
Better Weapons
The Seahawks suited up five wide receivers in last year's Super Bowl. All of them had gone undrafted. What's often overlooked about Russell Wilson is that his offensive weapons have never been that good. They'll be better this season. Jimmy Graham is the best weapon Wilson has ever had and third round pick Tyler Lockett has potential.
Russell Wilson
Wilson got a big contract from Seattle and he deserved it. He's one of the best QBs in the NFL. He's an above-average passer statistically, but he does more than just throw it. He rarely turns the ball over and is great on the ground. He can improvise with the best of the quarterbacks in the NFL. Few QBs would be as successful in Seattle as Wilson has been. With Wilson at the helm, Seattle will be the NFC West favorites for a long time.
