The NFL Draft is approaching quickly. The national attention is starting to turn away from free agency and towards the Draft since free agency is wrapping up and the draft is just over a month away. We've already put together a full first round mock draft, and now we have a three round mock just for the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks are coming off yet another playoff berth and have needs at only a few positions. The biggest of those needs are on the offensive line. With that in mind, here is the Seahawks' 3 Round 2016 NFL Mock Draft.
Round 1, Pick No. 27: Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State
The Seahawk offensive line improved late last year, but more help is needed, especially with the free agency losses. Getting Conklin at the end of Round One is great value and he could very well be gone before this. The Seahawks really should just take the best offensive lineman available if he's worthy of a first round pick. There should be one or two that are when the Seahawks are on the clock. Round 2, Pick No. 56: Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State
The Seahawks lost Brandon Mebane this offseason, and they needed some DT help before he left. Johnson might not be on the board when the Seahawks pick, but a deep draft class could help him slip to the Seahawks' pick. He's versatile enough to fit in both a 3-4 scheme and a 4-3 look, although he'd line up at DT for Seattle. Don't be surprised if Seattle takes a DT in round one.
Round 3, Pick No. 90: Sebastian Tretola, OG, Arkansas
If Seattle is smart, they'll add at least two offensive linemen early in this year's draft. This is the right range for Tretola, a true mauler in the running game. He still needs work, but he could thrive under offensive line coach Tom Cable. If it's not Tretola, there should be a few offensive linemen the Seahawks could select.
Round 3, Pick No. 97: Maurice Canady, CB, Virginia
This is one of just four compensatory picks in this year's draft. They can't be traded, which means Seattle has to make a selection. The Seahawks brought back Jeremy Lane, but they still need another CB across from Richard Sherman. That could be Canady, who at 6-foot-1, has the size the Seahawks want in their CBs. Canady needs some development, but he could be a good fit in Seattle.
