The Seattle Seahawks may have lost in the divisional round of the playoffs, but they're still expected to be a Super Bowl contender again next year. The draft is at the forefront of the minds of everyone in Seattle's front office as they try to fix a few weaknesses, and they have a chance to really upgrade their roster to help them win another title. Here is who we think the Seahawks will take in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft:
Round 1, Pick #26 - Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor Bears
Billings finally became a consistent performance for Baylor last season and he made a huge impact as a result, picking up 14.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. The 6'2", 300-pounder is a workout warrior and will turn heads at the combine, where he can demonstrate his surprising quickness. Seattle needs defensive tackle help after losing Brandon Mebane in free agency, and head coach Pete Carroll loves players like this. Billings has all of the potential to be a future Pro Bowler.
Round 2, Pick #56 - Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama Crimson Tide
Re-signing Jermanie Kearse virtually eliminates the chances of Seattle drafting a receiver this high, but with Marshawn Lynch's retirement, they need to find a second running back to pair with Thomas Rawls. Henry's power running style would be a perfect fit in Seattle's system, giving him a chance to be a star and real factor as a goal-line back.
Round 3, Pick #90 - Zack Sanchez, CB, Oklahoma Sooners
Seattle has been looking for cornerback depth behind Richard Sherman, and Sanchez is someone who can be successful playing on both the outside and in nickel. He doesn't have elite size at 5'11" and 185 lbs, but he is a true playmaker, showing outstanding ball skills with 13 interceptions over the past two seasons. Sanchez still needs to improve on some of the fundamentals, but his ability to make plays will make him an impact player.
