The Seattle Seahawks are fresh off a season in which they came up just short of making it to the Super Bowl and the team has a few needs that they'll need to address this offseason. The Seahawks have limited cap space and only a few notable free agents that could leave. New England might not make many waves in free agency, and they'll likely focus instead on the NFL Draft.
The Seahawks have a late first round draft pick, but the team will be able to add an impact player or two in the draft. With that in mind, here are 4 Positions Of Need The Seahawks Should Address In The NFL Draft:
4. Wide Receiver
The Seahawks are likely to lose Jermaine Kearse, which isn't a major blow. But his departure means the team should add another WR in the draft. While there will be a few quality players on the board in Round One, the Seahawks are better off taking a player at some point on Day 3.
3. Cornerback
The Seahawks are set at one spot with Richard Sherman, but they never really replaced Byron Maxwell. Jeremy Lane played okay, but is a free agent. If he's brought back and Tharold Simon returns from injury, the team still needs another corner. Spending a Day Two pick and/or an early Day 3 pick is a sound strategy.
2. Offensive Guard
J.R. Sweezy is passable as a starter, but he's a free agent. Even if he's brought back, it's clear that Justin Britt shouldn't be starting. Spending a Day Two pick on guard makes sense. For more Seahawks coverage, download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
1. Offensive Tackle
The offensive line as a whole was bad last season Russell Okung was average at best last season and he's a free agent who might not be back. Garry Gillam should not be starting and the Seahawks must find at least one new starting tackle this offseason. If a tackle like Taylor Decker or Jason Spriggs is on the board in Round One, the Seahawks should pull the trigger.
