In a surprising move, the Seattle Seahawks cut RB DuJuan Harris Tuesday. Seattle lost Thomas Rawls for the season Sunday and releasing Harris thins their depth even more.
When Rawls went down, it was actually Harris who led the team in carries. Harris carried the ball 18 times for 42 yards. He did lose a fumble, which may have played into the team's decision to cut him. The news was first reported by ESPN's Field Yates.
Seattle added Bryce Brown Monday to replace Rawls on the active roster. Fred Jackson is also on the roster, as is the injured Marshawn Lynch. Derrick Coleman can run the ball, but he's more of a short-yardage, fullback type.
It's unclear who will get the start for Seattle this week. Jackson has 24 carries for just 89 yards this season and Coleman has just three carries. There is no timetable for Lynch's return.
The Seahawks have an open roster spot with the release of Harris. An interesting name is Christine Michael, who was cut by the Redskins today. He was a former second round pick by the Seahawks, but has already gone through three NFL teams this season.
