NFL Free Agency officially starts today, and the next few days will feature several Seattle Seahawks rumors. While free agency didn't officially start until 4 p.m., teams have used the "legal tampering" days to their advantage. That means teams can discuss contracts with any player, although a deal can't be signed until Wednesday. With that in mind, here are a few of the more interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Seahawks.
Seattle Loses DT Brandon Mebane
The Seahawks wanted to keep DT Brandno Mebane, but he's heading to the San Diego Chargers.
We've agreed to terms on a three year deal with NT Brandon Mebane.

He's the third starter Seattle has lost, joining OLB Bruce Irvin (Raiders) and OG J.R. Sweezy (Bucs). The exact terms of the deal have not yet been announced.
Marshawn Lynch Still On Seattle's Roster
The Seahawks have yet to take RB Marshawn Lynch off the team's roster. That means his $11.5 million cap hit is still counting for the team. Pro Football Talk reports there are two main theories for keeping Lynch on the active roster. The first is that the Seahawks will move him off the roster after June 1st so that he'll count less against the cap this season.
The second theory is much more intriguing. Lynch could be "dragging his feet" in order for the Seahawks to cut him. That way, if Lynch changes his mind about retirement, he'll be a free agent.
Seattle After Rishard Matthews?
With the Seahawks likely to lose Jermaine Kearse this offseason, the team could use another WR. That might come in the form of Rishard Matthews.
Sounds like it is between the Titans, Patriots and Seahawks for soon to be former Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews.

Matthews would bring size help to the Seattle WR corps, something the team needs. However, Matthews coming to Seattle is likely dependant on how much he'll cost.
Seahawks Interested In Cedric Thornton?
The Seahawks need defensive line help, especially with Mebane now gone, and that might result in them going after Cedric Thornton.
The #Cowboys and #Seahawks are among the teams interested in #Eagles DL Cedric Thornton. His market's starting to heat up.

Thornton played for the Eagles' in the 3-4 scheme last season. He played DE, but could shift inside to defensive tackle for the Seahawks.
