Seattle drafted DT Malik McDowell, but he could miss all of the season (or longer) after an ATV accident. If Richardson leaves and gets a large contract, the Seahawks would likely get a 3rd round compensatory pick for Richardson. He's coming off a bit of a down year, with 62 tackles but only 1.5 sacks. In 2014, his best season so far, Richardson had 67 tackles and eight sacks. He joins a loaded Seahawks defense that is among the best in the NFL.
Kearse was on the outs in Seattle, but now goes to a New York team devoid of WR help. Their top WRs, Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa and Brandon Marshall are all gone (or Enunwa's case, hurt), leaving Robby Anderson as the de facto No. 1 WR. Kearse now assumes that role, basically by default. Last year, Kearse had 41 catches for 510 yards and one TD. In 2015, he caught 49 passes for 685 yards and 5 TDs.
On a related note, Rapoport adds the Seahawks could trade Ahtyba Rubin to the Broncos.
