The Seattle Seahawks are active on the trade market leading up to roster cuts at the end of this week. The Seahawks are actively shopping three players at the moment: CB Jeremy Lane, WR Jermaine Kearse and RB Alex Collins.
#Seahawks continue to actively gauge trade values, with talks involving CB Jeremy Lane, RB Alex Collins & WR Jermaine Kearse, sources say.

All three are players at positions where Seattle has depth. If the Seahawks can't complete trades for some of these players, they could be cut (Collins is the most likely to lose his roster spot). A late round pick is likely the most Seattle can get for each.
Lane has three years left on a four-year, $27 million contract he signed before 2016. Seattle could save $4 million by trading him, which would also be his cap hit for a team that trades for him. Seattle signed Tramaine Brock this offseason and drafted Shaquill Griffin on Day 2. That Lane is on the block means he likely won't be the starting CB across from Richard Sherman.

Collins was a 5th round pick out of Arkansas last year, but has fallen down the depth chart. Thomas Rawls, Eddie Lacy and C.J. Prosise were already ahead of him, but rookie Chris Carson has outplayed Collins and surpassed him in workload in camp and the preseason. In 11 games last year, Collins had 125 yards and a TD on 31 carries.
Kearse has two years left on a three-year, $13.5 million deal. He's served as the Seahawks' No. 2 WR in the past, but a healthy Paul Richardson and Tyler Lockett are ahead of him. With young players like Kasen Williams, Amara Darboh, Kenny Lawler and Tanner McEvoy battling for a roster spot. The older and more expensive Kearse might be the odd man out. Seattle can save just over $2 million by trading or releasing him. Kearse took a step back in 2016, with 510 yards and one TD on 41 catches.
