The Seahawks rumors have been swirling around if Seattle Seahawks will cut star cornerback Richard Sherman this offseason. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported yesterday that Sherman has told teammates goodbye because he won't be on the team in 2018. A few hours later, Sherman's mother Beverly, said that her son will no longer be a Seahawk.

According to Adam Schefter, Richard Sherman has been released by the Seahawks.
According to Spotrac, the Seahawks have only $11.7 million in cap space, which is the 26th least in the NFL. This means the Seahawks had to cut some players and Sherman is one of them. Seattle cutting Sherman shouldn't be such a big surprise since he is coming off a ruptured Achilles on Nov. 9 of 2017 and set to make $13.2 million in 2018. Cutting Sherman is a dead cap hit of $2.2 million, which is only a fraction of his 2018 salary.
