Chancellor was entering the final season of a five-year deal he signed with the team in 2013 that includes a base salary of $6.8 million this year. This deal makes Chancellor the second-highest paid safety in the league behind Eric Berry of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chancellor has been trying to get a new deal with Seattle for the past couple of years, even holding out two games into the 2015 season.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder recorded 85 tackles with one forced fumble and two interceptions last season.
