Seahawks To Offer Marshawn Lynch Huge Contract Extension

The Seattle Seahawks want to keep Marshawn Lynch around for the foreseeable future, and possibly for the rest of his career.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoportthe Seahawks have made Lynch an offer on a huge contract extension that would keep him in Seattle. The deal will include more than $10 million for Lynch in the 2015 season alone.

As the current deal stands, Lynch will make $5 million in 2015 - the final year of a four-year, $31 million deal.

The Seahawks have said that want to reward Lynch, who has rushed for over 1,200 yards in each of the past four seasons with Seattle, who they believe has outplayed his contract.

The deal could make Lynch the second highest-paid running back in the league behind Minnesota's Adrian Peterson.

Seattle was not expected to bring Lynch back next season given his sometimes unfriendly relationship with the coaching staff and his age (28). Sources close to him have said in the past that if the Seahawks win their second-straight Super Bowl, he could retire.

However, the Seahawks have made it clear they want to keep Lynch around with this contract offer.
