In an interview on ESPN 710 AM on Thursday, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson's agent, Mark Rodgers, said that contract talks between Wilson and the team are going well at the present moment.
"We've made progress," Rodgers said, via Oregon Live. "I would characterize them as positive and encouraging."
Wilson is reportedly seeking a five-year deal for upwards of $100 million, but Rodgers wouldn't go as far as to mention specifics.
"A deal that feels fair, that feels reasonable and that at the end of the day makes him feel comfortable with the compensation he's receiving for the skill and the performance that he's delivering," Rodgers said of what Wilson is looking for.
If Wilson and the Seahawks can't come to terms on a new deal, Rodgers said the quarterback will play out the final year of his current contract in 2015.
"Russell Wilson's under contract with the Seahawks and he absolutely, if he has to, would certainly be fine playing his fourth year under a four-year contract that he signed coming out, and then moving on from there," Rodgers said. "I don't feel any particular crunch on time and any real particular deadlines."
