Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas told reporters on Wednesday that his once-dislocated shoulder is now a '10' heading into Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the New England Patriots.
The next day Thomas received a 'random' HGH test, which prompted a suspicious Thomas to post this tweet to his personal Twitter account:
Yesterday I said my shoulder was a 10 ... Wake up the next morning and I have a blood test for HGH .. League office distraction
— Earl Thomas (@Earl_Thomas) January 29, 2015
Thomas wouldn't elaborate when pressed on the issue by ESPN's Ed Werder on Thursday, but another Seahawks player told him: “We are being treated like criminals, tested like people on parole.”
The NFL began random testing back in October, testing six players from eight randomly selected teams each week of the season/playoffs.
The Seahawks and Earl Thomas don't appear to buy into the 'random' portion of this latest run of tests, insinuating that the team actively targeted Thomas just days before the team's bid to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
