Seattle Seahawks tackle Russell Okung, who was seen shoving away a staff member and spitting blood following the last play of the first half of Seattle's victory over the 49ers on Sunday, has been released from an area hospital after being treated for an injury to his chest wall.
According to Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "via SeattlePI.com, coach Pete Carroll confirmed the injury and said that more information will be available in the coming days."
The Seattle Seahawks soldiered on without Okung on Sunday, erasing a 7-3 deficit and taking home a 17-7 win. Their victory, coupled with the Detroit Lions' victory over the Minnesota Vikings, eliminated the rival San Francisco 49ers from playoff contention.
While it's unclear at this moment if Okung's injury will have major lasting effects going forward, the Seattle Seahawks will be careful with such an injury nonetheless as practice kicks up later this coming week.
