The Seattle Seahawks have promoted safety Terrance Parks from the practice squad in advance of their game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, per Mike Wilkening of NBC's Pro Football Talk.
In a corresponding move, the Seahawks waived wide receiver/return Bryan Walters.
According to Wilkening, the first-year pro "was signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad on Sept. 8. He played collegiately at Florida State. Parks (6-2, 218) has never appeared in an NFL regular season game, but he did play in all four preseason games for Seattle this summer."
The team signed Park in the wake of injuries sustained by strong safety Kam Chancellor (questionable with a groin injury) and backup strong safety Jeron Johnson (out with a concussion).
The Seahawks are major favorites against Oakland on Sunday, but a banged-up secondary could make things a little trickier against impressive young rookie quarterback Derek Carr.
