Seahawks News: Seattle Expected To Make Russell Wilson NFL's Highest-Paid Quarterback

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been the NFL's best bargain for three years running, making less than $1 million a year on his rookie contract since being drafted in 2012.

That's all about to change very soon.

Per NFL.com's Chris Wesseling, "NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, via sources involved in the situation, Russell Wilson is expected to become the NFL's highest-paid quarterback when the Seahawks sign him to a long-term extension in the coming offseason."

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is currently the best-compensated quarterback in the league, with a five-year, $110 million deal that pays him an average of $22 million each year.

While Wilson's current contract runs through the end of next season, the Seahawks are reportedly ready to hand the dynamic young quarterback a pay raise of epic proportions. With a Super Bowl ring already in his possession and another one up for grabs, Wilson still may be a bargain for Seattle regardless of how much he gets out of contract negotiations.
