In Seahawks news today, the Seattle Seahawks and superstar safety Earl Thomas have agreed to terms on a contract extension which will make him the highest-paid safety in the game.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Earl Thomas will be extremely well-compensated to remain with the Seahawks for years to come:
The #Seahawks have locked up star safety Earl Thomas to a blockbuster long-term extension, source says. Easily the highest-paid safety.

Per Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk, "last week, it sounded like things were close between the Seahawks and cornerback Richard Sherman on a new deal, which may not have been as close as it sounded."
Thus, Earl Thomas has seemingly beat Sherman to the punch, securing a deal which could very well keep him in Seattle through the duration of his prime.
However, Gantt does note that "a deal with Sherman could happen as well, as the Seahawks begin paying off all that cheap young talent they accumulated."
