The Seattle Seahawks surprised a lot of people by taking Michigan defensive end Frank Clark in the second round with their first selection in the NFL Draft.
The Wolverines kicked Clark off the team after he was arrested for domestic violence and assault in November. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct and counseling.
At the first day of rookie minicamp, Clark addressed the incident:
“At the end of the day, you don’t want to be labeled, as some call it, a woman beater … but at the same time it doesn’t bother me because I know what I did and didn’t do. I don’t want to get into specifics of the case, but at the end of the day, the coaches and staff here had faith in drafting me … basically I put myself in a bad position. At the end of the day, I know what happened. Only two people really know what happened. I’ve been honest and upfront this whole time, as much as I can. That’s all I can do.”
