Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll gave updates on the injured players on his team on Monday, most notably concerning center Max Unger and cornerback Byron Maxwell.
Unger missed six weeks with a high ankle sprain before returning against the Panthers, but left the game late when he injured the same ankle.
“He really got tangled up bad,” Carroll told 710 ESPN in Seattle. “He was more concerned he thought it happened again, but it didn’t. So he was very fortunate. But he could feel that stress go right to the spot that it hurt before. He actually felt pretty good the next day and looks to be OK.”
Maxwell had trouble breathing during the game, and Carroll said it’s too early to say if he’ll play against the Green Bay, though he's hopeful.
“He was real sick,” Carroll said. “He’s had a history of some chest stuff. He’s had pneumonia before and all that. So he was uncomfortable and he couldn’t catch his breath in normal fashion. He could play a play, but he didn’t know if he could play a sequence. Hopefully, we’ll get him back next week.”
Seattle and Green Bay will face off on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. ET on FOX.
