The Seattle Seahawks have a tough test on deck when their playoff opponents come to town, but they'll have a much tougher test going on behind the scenes over the next few weeks: keeping their highly-regarded coaching staff around.
Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell, Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn and Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach Tom Cable have all been linked to open jobs elsewhere, with Bevell and Quinn among the hottest head coaching candidates in the entire league. According to Seahawks HC Pete Carroll, Bevell has already interviewed for the open Oakland Raiders job, and Cable will interview with the New York Jets this coming weekend. Quinn has already been linked to three jobs - the Jets, 49ers and Falcons have reportedly reached out.
Seattle is no stranger to losing coordinators to head coaching jobs - Quinn was hired after Gus Bradley was hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars just a few years back.
It's still very early in most head coaching searches - of all the NFL teams looking to fill a position, only the Oakland Raiders, who fired their coach back after Week 4, have been able to actively search for more than a few days. Other teams can interview Seattle's coaches during their bye week, but this is their last chance until the Seahawks' postseason run ends. Seattle is seeded first in the NFC, giving them the opportunity to play the lowest remaining NFC seed after the Wild Card round.
